The recipe is pretty simple.  The problem is "milking" that ol' bull moose to get it.
Good luck, and do make sure your health insurance is paid up before you start. :luff: :luff: :luff:

I'm a bit tardy posting this, I received a couple days ago a very nice hand engraved brass powder measure and a hand engraved NW Company token from Lonewolfe20, was trying to wait until I got home this weekend to take some pics before I posted, needless to say they are top shelf and the Powder measure will fit nicely with the new bag and horn that I'm making for the prom queen! Thanks so much and a Merry Christmas to all, Beav

Now I'm feeling like a piker for what I sent to Mad Irish Jack!  I hope he can forgive me for not sending the equivalent of what others are getting!

I got one of those the other day and so far I've been pretty good.
I told him then that I had the willpower of huge Nightcrawler, and he shouldn't test me....but so far so good because Mama Bear hid the darn thing....she's such a good woman.

Russ, I read your remark and couldn't help but recall when Cindy & I were younger and would always get a Christmas present for each other (we still do) - well, she would hide her's (the one she got for me) then at least two Christmas' she couldn't find it!!! She'd look high and low (and our house just ain't that big)...  :lol sign Eventually she'd find it,,, and one time it was in February...  :laffing

You all have a Merry Christmas  :shake

Here is a great little banded powder horn from Bigsmoke! I've actually been wanting one for quite awhile.

Also, my wonderful wife got me a copy of a book I've been wanting.

Well, thank you fellers, but I really cannot take credit for making that horn.  I got it from a fellow named Gus Tabor a few years ago.  I have yet to make a banded horn.  Probably never will.  I have decided that I am going to retire effective 1/1/2020.  All of my shop equipment will be going up for sale as soon as I get around to cleaning the tools up.  I will probably list the specific horn tools here and on the Horner's Bench.  Maybe on the ALR site as well.  Still have a few cow horns laying around to get rid of.  Then Mrs. Smoke has a vision of turning my workshop into an office for her own self.  I think that will be good for her.  So, Happy New Year to y'all.  Effective this day, I am officially retired.
