Ice Storm Woes
« on: November 01, 2020, 11:49:31 AM »
If you saw the news last week, Oklahoma had a major ice storm. I've  been without power for a week now and finally got my old emergency generator repaired. I'm  great with cars and electronics  but small engines confound me. This has been an object lesson for me in preparedness. At least I had the equipment even if it was in disrepair. I saw so many for trying to find generators, chainsaws, lanterns, batteries even ice was in short supply. But we had toilet  paper
I'm  not  H/C or P/C or even a particularly  good shot but I have a hell of a good time!

That ice storm missed northwest Kansas, but we did get about an inch of snow.

The folks here in south Mississippi feel your pain. A lot of folks will not have power for at least another five or six days at best. This cat one storm caused damage all out of proportion to the wind speed. I've added your part of the country to my nightly talk with the man upstairs. About all I can do for now. If you get the chance, tell the linemen and linewomen thank you for their hard work. They are doing the best they can for you and for us.
