First Powder Horn in a While
« on: September 05, 2023, 01:35:12 PM »
In January, 2020, I decided that I had made enough powder horns in my life and decided to quit.  So, I sold most of my equipment (except for my wood lathe and router) and cleaned out my workshop and gave it to Ms. Smoke for her office.  So, that was it for forever, I thought.
Well, fast forward to last December, when I decided I wanted to make a few more powder horns.  So, I bought 10 cow horns from Powder Horns and More and started a batch of four.  It only took me until September 3 to finish one of them.  Not nearly as fast as I used to be.  But I am pleased with how it came out.
I had decided that I was going to start making applied tip horns and screw tip ones.  Here is my first applied tip.

So, that is horn #1, I am looking forward to what the future brings.

Thank you for looking, and comments/critiques are welcome.

Yup, it has taken a while, since 1984.  I'll get it yet.

That is a beautiful horn! You may have gotten old and slow but you still have the touch!
Lord, make my words as sweet as honey for tomorrow I may have to eat them.  Amen
