And a Happy Veterans Day to all.
Ms Smoke and I went to a Veterans Day event at the Vets Museum in San Luis Obispo this morning.  One of the key note speakers was our US Representative and a veteran Marine.  I did get a chuckle out of his introduction when the MC mentioned that the Marines were a wholly own subsidiary of the US Navy.  Regardless of that, Happy Anniversary to the USMC.
After that, we drove up to Paso Robles where we went to an Honor Flight benefit showing of Into Flight Once More.
It is the story of groups of people who renewed 15 C-47 airplanes and flew them from the various parts of the US to England, and then re-enacted the Normandy invasion.  They all did everything on their own dimes, too.  One plane even carried a group of paratroopers.
My step dad actually flew a C-47 in that action in WWII, so it was especially meaningful to me.
If you want to see it in the comfort of your own home, it is available for rent on You Tube.
