Well I said the rat target might follow me to the range the next time I go. I went and it did follow me. This time I had only a few more points. So I give up. Good target Nessmuk. My hat's off to Kevin. He did a good job on that target.

Ok now I cannot figure out how I could miss all those big nasty rats but hit that little money bag.

Uh oh
I think I botched this target. My apologies.
I thought hitting the money bag was an extra 10 points, not minus 10!
Guess I need to be more careful to read the instructions.
I may as well shoot it again with another gun.
Sorry fellas.

Well I gave it another shot with my Kibler Woodsrunner. Surprised at how much better she scored.
40 points I think. Lemme know if I?m stretching the scores.

I think that Kibler has a personal vendetta against rats. Good shooting Salty. :hairy

Got a question for Jim in Wisconsin. I was just looking at your April target. And I was wondering if you're going to change your sights a little bit? If that group was a little more to the left, you would have added a few more points. I have  to do some fine tuning to one or two of mine. Most of the time, I'll shoot to the right just like you did.

Yup, I should have adjusted them first.
That rifle is a mule ear that I made - I wanted a peep sight and made one mounted on the side plate to reach up and over the tang. Not the greatest patent I guess, when I take the lock off to clean it the side plate might not go back in exactly the same place. I had made up my mind I was going to shoot one target and accept whatever I get, and that's what I got!
I'll try to do better next time (or use a different rifle).

Got out and shot my target (didn't have the rats printed out).  After dry firing all Winter long with a wood chip instead of a flint, I had hoped to do a little better than this.  I can't complain, it was a lovely day.  I did have a cardboard backer but it doesn't seem to have done much this time around. Probably Chinese made box. I also had the target taped on upside down, so the holes towards the bottom were really on the top, and those on the right were on the left....

I'll make that a 1X; the second one is not totally inside the X-ring.

Glad you got out, April always seems like a slow start for the postals
I never thought about dry fire practice in the Winter months, hmmm, maybe I should.
 Looking forward to May's targets.
