    You might check around at your local meat butcher shops. I have one not too far away that canned two doe for me. They were the metal cans about the size of a regular soup can. That was six-seven year ago. The deer were from a road kill and I did not have the time to process myself. Ended up with 88 cans that lasted almost four years.
   The cans were great for camping and Vous. Easily made stew, shredded meat sandwiches or deer and noodles.

canning meat

i never did any deer ......but in 1999 looking at y2k...ya i fell for that...i canned some beef stew meat...you MUST use a pressure cooker..........well any way this spring we ate the last jar.......tasted good  and no health problems......used the meat, couple of whole allspice,  some onion, browned the meat........put in jars with the spices filled with beef boulioun juice........
