We can always hope! We stepped up last year because Butler couldn't do the frolic anymore and the "Old Northwest Frolic" was born.  The TMA ONW Frolic is May 1-3 or 8 days away.Indiana lives in Madison,IN just over the border and has a nice spot for an event if you guys wanna do one there I will be happy to help get it together. Be nice to have an event in the fall down there maybe hint hint. Right now we have the ONW Frolic in northern Indiana and the PNW event that Beaverman is involved with up in Washington State. Never hurts to have a third or fourth event every year.

I got a "Howdy & Shake" from Butler Ford (Bill) the other day.  He's doing well, but didn't mention anything about the frolic.  I'll try an e-mail and if the wind don't blow my smoke away, maybe he'll see it.
It'd sure be nice to get over there and see all of those fine folks again.

Crockett's Camp of Overton county Tennessee migh be interested in sponsoring an event in 2011. What would be expected of the group in order to have a TMA sanctioned event?

For a sanctioned event, the hosting club rules have to coincide with TMA defintition of a sanctioned shoot. Mainly types of firearms used. AN event is a "sponsored" event if it is ran by TMA members for members. The TMA Tree Rat shoot in Michigan which Swamp ran last year and the "Old" Northwest Frolic in Indiana which I have had the last 3 yearsare examples. The TMA provides shooting certificates for sanctioned events(not sure what else) and the sponsored events run as any rendezvous would exept thay are for TMA members and guests of such. I hope this answered your question, and I didn't miss anything, I am sure someone will be along and correct me if I did.

We are in the planning stages of an event called "The Robert Crockett, Longhunter Festival. The target date is the 21st through the 23rd of
October 2011. The site, Standing Stone State park in Tennessee.
Crockett was the first white man killed in middle tennessee by Cherokees. He died and is buried in Overton County. It has also been
documented that Daniel Boone  camped at a site now in the park.
