Colt Walker nipples
« on: July 12, 2009, 05:16:41 PM »
I have a Colt Walker problem. Using #10 caps the hammer falls just shy of the cap. If I back each nipple out about 1/4 turn it pops the caps, but I'm not comfortable with that solution. Should I try #11 caps or replace the nipples?

Tube on nipples are too short and need replaced . Dixie would have them.

Ditto that.
However, be sure of what thread size the nipples are before you order them.  Some are 1/4-28 standard rifle nipples, some are 6 - 1mm CVA rifle nipples.  I seem to recall that there was one other size used on them, but am not so sure right now.  Good luck.

A quick glance at the "Nipple size chart" that I posted some time back on the Caplock forum, it seems the size is 6.1......

Although I used to own a Walker, and wish I still did, I can't remember what the nipple was on the gun.
I have heard from many others the recommendation to stay with the #10 caps on this gun, apparently they are much less of a "hassle" than trying to get a #11 to work properly...but that seems to hold true with any C&B Revolver.
