I've seen the Mortimer in the Dixie (and other) catalogs for years but have never seen one in person.  I like the way it looks.  I also saw one in a movie once.

I have a 12 ga. mortimer from pedersoli.  It is a fine gun.  Have never had a problem with ignition with it, and have taken a few deer, a turkey and a few squirrels with it.  I don't use it much since I got my trade gun, but it is definitely a keeper.

Yep. I wish I could shoot it up to It's Potential.  8) I got mine in a "Trade" & it came with a 12 ga. bble. that just "drops in"  8)

I also own a "Tyron" ( capper) & did own a Jager ( which was the gun I Traded for the Mortimer )

I currently owm a pair of Mortimer "saw handle" Pistols ( 1 flint & 1 cap ) these are REALLY tack Drivers.

Any way, IMHO if the Mortimer Fits you ( reach), the weight ( about 10#) & your "persona, then you will NOT be disapointed

I have had one for a few years now and it is my primary rifle. shoots better than I do hehe fast lock, always ignites and a good looking rifle to boot. I actually traded a Panthere center pole lodge for it years ago and had to camp at Friendship in a diamond fly the next weekend because I wanted the gun .Can't go wrong with it!
