Other than a powder horn or possibles bag strap or belt, what do you use a sashe for?

In place of a belt, it keeps your frock closed and holds your knife sheath, pistol, etc.
I wear a belt but my son who dresses native wears a sash.

It has some uses in first aid. In a pinch you can use it as a deer drag strap, but it would probably stretch it all out of shape.

Keeps open front hunting shirt closed. Supports a small bag and a knife and 'hawk.  Also have one with my matchcoat for keeping it closed at the waist.  Make a good field expedient rifle sling as I rarely need one and don't have one on my rifle.

My main outfit is much like the Voyageurs, so my sash holds my knife and hawk.
(I cheat with suspenders holding up my pants underneath)  --- otherwise they are too likely
to fall down below my incredible girth  :Doh!
