Winter Wear Part 2...
« on: December 31, 2012, 07:13:41 PM »
My era is 1830, located in Texas from North Carolina and Louisiana...what would I be wearing on a cold winter's day in NE Texas?

OK...maybe someone can help with this question...

How big of a blanket do you think I would need for a 4xl blanket coat?

Personally, I think a tanned/hair on buffalo pelt or brown bear pelt would work real nice to wrap up in like Little Big Man did, and to sleep in.  :hairy

1830 is after my period, but in general, you'd be wearing a system of layers.

Linen/cotton shirt, wool waistcoat, wool coat, maybe an overcoat or greatcoat over that.

How cold does it get?

Not sure about Texas, but it is a misdemeanor to be below 26 for two days in a row in middle Georgia.
