I have had RK and Nomadics lodges and can attest to the high quality in both tipis.  Of course, that has been many moons ago, but I have not heard of them dropping their standards.  The maker in Idaho (which I cannot think of the name) also turns out a very good product.
If you do not have access to poles, they are going to set you back a few more frog skins, for sure.

Thanks big smoke

I am either going with RK because they are close or
Colorado yurt. They seem to have a thicker material
Plus they are in driving distance. I really like the look
of the nomadic ones I wish they were closer

Also check out Don Strinz (sometimes has used ones on his website) and Panther Primitives.

Our Scout troop has two of them - one is a Strinz I think (our better one) and I am not sure of the maker on the other. I was told RK, but there is no label or anything.

There is a guy over here in Rochester (MN) that makes them as well - no website that I know of.

Thanks Riley

I would really like to get one in South Dakota or Minnesota
It would be fun to go and cut our own lodge poles there to
My brother used to help cut the poles for the Sundance in pipestone but he's
about 2000 miles away so no help from him
I will check with your suggestions

Try http://www.strinztipi.com. This is what a quick yahoo search came up with.

Here's the cover and poles.

It got dark on us so we weren't able to finish

I might be able to take it to Wyoming this coming week for
a week long camp

I will post some more pics when she is all done

Next photo, wait until it is dark, then put a fire inside and take a photo of that.
Love it!!
