Fort Bridger Rendezvous 2017

Anyone else going to the Fort Bridger Rendezvous this weekend??

I'm headed there tomorrow afternoon.

Been many a moon since I was there.  Last time I won best dressed flatlander and Mrs. Smoke took best dressed mountain lady or some such set of honors.  It was fun.  I think we took a tour of the buildings and found that interesting.  Still do that?
Was not too impressed with the glow in the dark feathers that were sold at the gate, along with rubber band rifles and misc garage sale junk.  They still letting them do that silliness?  I recall many of the traders were kinda upset with those goings on.
Anyway, have a great time and show them how to shoot.

Well I didn't see any glow in the dark feathers, or rubber band guns,.... but I did get to see the King and Queen of France, and a Dance Hall Girl and her pet Pot-bellied pig wearin' matching silk dresses.

Sorry John,... I didn't get a picther of them or the King and Queen, by the time I went back to camp and got my camera I couldn't find them again amongst the crowd , but I do have other pitchers.

FWIW:.... the pig's name was "Truffles". 

I was told there were close to 400 camps in the primitive and tin tipi areas,
plus approximately 12,000 day visitors (some may have gotten counted twice as they walked back and forth through the Fort gates), and 14 food vendors set up in their designated areas, and 50+ traders on trader's row (not counting those with  "trade blankets").

I got out of the Bridger Rondy pretty cheap this year,.... brought home a case of Olde Eynsford powder and a few Padre Beads.

I did see a couple of original Cromwell smoothbore pistols I'da loved to call mine,.... but my wife managed to drag me (kickin' and screamin') to safety.

Thanks for the pictures Rondo. I'm sure you all had a great time. Also looks like the weather was good. 

It was clear and hot during the day, but cooled down into the mid to upper 40's during the nights.
