That's a fact for sure.  :bl th up

I've tried all kinds of concoctions (store bought to homemade) and found that as long as they don't impede repeatable loading with ease while maintaining accuracy, and when left over night in a loaded barrel it still allows you to shoot with the same results the next day, (and no blown patches -nor- turning rancid) - it works for me.

In fact, lube testing is a game in itself.  Though I will always prefer spit for target shooting, and lube for hunting. :shake

Forgot to add; Any lube that leaves a patch smoldering (like Crisco can do) - don't use it... They've been known to start fires. This I've seen on Rifle Ranges where they've had to stop a shoot just to extinguish a smoldering patch.

Right on. Not looking to start fires.
While I was out running errands today, raining again,
I picked up some muslin .010 to try with the gato feo.
Anxious to shoot the real black powder.
I had notice a few time with pyrodex nice smoking little fliers come out which I assumed was unburnt pyro or lube.

Going crazy over here.  I'm sure others have tried this but made few 10,15,18 strips soaked in warm gatofeo. In stead of rub n heat.

Hey buddy, If I ever have the opportunity to go over to your place for a few drinks, I'll take it/them neat.  No need for you to share your ice cubes with me.  The way it comes out of the bottle is just fine, maybe water back.  That's it.

See you next year.
Seagrams VO is a good place to start.
But no yellow ice cubes.
Was just thinking about something that goes kinda hand in hand with this conversation.
Old Idaho saying, "Don't eat yellow snow!!"
