Pistoles
« on: February 26, 2021, 01:52:51 PM »
[ Invalid Attachment ] I the process of researching a trade gun / Fowler by a mfg/ maker named Phillips I was able to actually find a few other examples of his work with the same marque on the lock and exactly the same method of assy. But in a ( in this example) brass barreled Naval/Ships Officers pistol form.To me this was great news in the way of provenance, historically,as it shows that my Fowler was made by somebody, who was known, who was also - fairly successful and respected, and who manufactured everything from simple settlers Guns on up to weapons for professional military Officers who wanted sturdy ,reliable solid guns that would not fail them probably well to do Royalty also, so the project Fowler is not junk and worth its being reborn  [ Invalid Attachment ] just got to get this picture thing straight in my head!

Don't sweat the caplock vs flintlock forums; you covered it admirably with the fowler!  Otherwise it will get moved to the correct spot by a moderator.
