An Interesting Patch Box Cover
« on: March 17, 2022, 11:33:18 AM »
.

I ran across some pics of a European SxS percussion double rifle elsewhere, and thought a pic of it's unique patch box cover interesting enough to share

Never seen that before. I like the relief carving and the butt plate treatment.

Yep, same what Hank said.
Am I seeing a "Grease hole"? or is that just a finger indentation for opening the box?
(I tried enlarging the picture, but still couldn't see it well enough to tell)

I like it!      :hairy

Thanks Pete!
I can see it clear as bell now, and I like its function.

OK, that patch box is a real dilly, all right.
But the joy of a double rifle isn't really all about the stock.  To me, it is the barrels.  And the caliber.  The bigger the better, me thinks.  Got photos of the rest of the gun?
Thanks,
John (Bigsmoke)
