this was it the latest isue of australian shooter its the puckle defence gun,patented may 15 1718 by james puckle of london,its a good read.

yep . but there is alittle more to the story of this gun .
as i understand it . it also shot a Square projectile . as the story goes , this was because  Turks at the time beloved  that to be killed by a square  projectile would  stop them from going to the promise land and deliver them strait to the under world . IE do not pass go , do not collect 500 bucks . Hence the reason for the square Turkish  chambers . Some where around here I have as  much longer and in-depth article on this piece.

it also is not a really a breech loader but actually  uses a flintlock cartridge which is independently loaded and set to the drum

Captchee  its just such an interesting piece and may be the western world should start using square bullets agian lol.

I need more! I see one cock and frizzen. How does it get primed for each shot? Must be something I'm missing, or the rate of fire would be seriously slowed by having to reprime for each shot!!!

 its my understanding that each cartradge  has its own prime . i you look at  the drawing  that i posted , on the cartradge you will see alittle door . this door slides forward just as early revolvers  did. under that door  is  the pan  and it holds the powder
 if you look on the cartradges in the artical windwalker posted , you can also see the doors
