Before the recent "cold" snap, highs had only reached 102 (with 75% humidity). Shop temps peaked at 86 (with 85%) humidity. ARGH, what that does to my wood stash! By January ambient humidity in there will be in the high-single-digits to low teens. I've been trying to find time to figure out installation of a pellet stove out there, just haven't been sufficiently inspired for some reason. . . can AC be far behind?
Temps at work have been unreal at times. For some reason I hung a thermometer on the forklift. Last week while working out on the parking lot I glanced over and saw the air temp on the blacktop was just over 120. AC went out in the backroom, and to bring freight in and out you have to open the doors. Humidity was so high a couple times when I drove the fork inside my glasses would fog up. AC is fixed now, so the glasses fog when I go outside.
But at least we have good honest wind. Temps around 90-100 with high humidity are much more bearable with a 20-30 mph breeze.
Found a bunch of birdseye maple in the stash. I can sorta remember accumulating this but can't recall what I had in mind for it. Pondering if I've ever seen birdseye used on original horns. I can't think of any; none in my notes of my museum and collection visits.
