CO2 discharger

Dryballed Sunday.  My innovations, Inc., Saf-T unloader had an exhausted cylinder and I only had smaller cylinders which it would not use.  'Net indicates this outfit doesn't make dischargers anymore.  

Where can I  find a discharger that  uses 12g cylinders (I have a LOT of them)?

Flintlock or cap lock? Either way, easy to do. Remove nipple and pour 4f in as much as you can, or remove touch hole and fill with 4f. Prime or cap and fire downrange. Won't be a loud bang, but def enough to clear dry ball. Have helped many at one time or another to clear a dry ball or stuck jag, they didn't have co2 gizmos back in the day. I'm sure they work real nice, but a little dash of 4f in the right place will do the same. Regards,GH.

Find a nut that takes up the difference in length between the two cylinders and just put it at the end of the cylinder and the frame of the discharger.  You might put a thin piece of foam on either side of the nut so it doesn't mar anything.

FWIW: You guys can trust Shadow Hawk on this one, I know for a fact he has had some experience with this dilemma, not on his end but on mine.
I still have one of those 100 MPH, bullet-proof, guaranteed unbreakable, high dollar Ram Rods, that's still broken from us trying to remove a stuck .58 ball....and now that I thought of it again, I promise once more to fix that rod before this Christmas, but if I don't, Oh Well, what's another year or three?

Anyone that believes all pillow-tickin is created equally only needs a couple of really bad dry-ball experiences to convince them otherwise.

A word or two of caution in using a co2 Discharger....Be very careful!

When that ball comes out its in an all-fired hurry and can do considerable damage if you have the barrel pointed in the wrong direction.
Not only will it warp a 13" circular saw blade and dent the top cover on your drill press, it is absolute death on glass windows and seems to search them out while ricocheting around the shop looking for one.
Since I now have two windows to my credit, I consider this an "outside only" job.....much less expensive!

FWIW; I don't know this to be a fact, but I have "heard / read" that your local Bicycle Shop can provide you with the same tool for less than one-half the price we often see them advertised for in our favorite Muzzleloading go-to magazines.

I have a couple or three of these things, mostly for my friends use...
They probably shine best with flintlocks...not so much for clearing the barrel, but for clearing the touch-hole.

Still yet, you should never leave home without one...likely the nicest thing about these little gadgets is clearing a loaded rifle and not have the noise associated with firing the load off while in a hunting area.

Jim Beau...I still cringe a bit every time I notice the dent on the cover of my drill press...if that had been my old head, I betcha that would have knocked some sense in it, or maybe even worse!

 its a fact . i have one  i bought at the Bike area from Wal-Mart .   i think it was 10.00 .
  the head is bigger and it doesnt come with the  reducer tip  with o ring .
 the other place to look is in  places that cell gun cleaning supplies .
look for  Cleenbore Co2 Propelled Cleaning System. they run 25.00 for the whole kit   not just the discharger .
 there are also other Co2 discharges on the market today . just do a google fot Co2 discharger . then click on photos .
 but your still going to need the reducer   for most of them ,which by the way you can also buy  at  cabalas’ and  sportsman’s .They sell  just the reducer  as I have bought them there  .

Folks I just cut the olg 16g cylinder in half. The 12g will side in and works fine.

Does anyone sell just the part you attach to the nipple? I have one of the bicycle shop tire inflators  I keep in the bike saddle bag.So.All I would need is the adapter . Unless they are real cheap . I'll stick with keeping a little 4f handy just in case.

 One other caution......Never ever throw one of those co2 canisters you think are
